Tegan and Sara will take the stage at the Hollywood Bowl this October to play a set at the We Can Survive concert headlined by Katy Perry.
The twins told Radio.com that they’re excited to be associated with the Young Survival Coalition–the global organization that is dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer–to which 100 percent of the profits from We Can Survive will be donated.
“We do often think of cancer as something that affects people who are older,” Tegan said. “I think it’s amazing to bring awareness to some of these cancers that are affecting young people.”
They’re also looking forward to checking out the night’s stellar lineup, handpicked by Perry herself, which includes fellow female acts Sara Bareilles, Ellie Goulding and Kacey Musgraves. But, as the duo admitted, they’re really just hoping Goulding hasn’t forgotten about them.
“Ellie Goulding…we just met recently so that will be nice,” Tegan said. “Hopefully she remembers us. She’s very nice, but very popular.”
“She should remember me. I got her a Tegan and Sara laminate and I assume it’s hanging somewhere in her house, prominently,” Sara joked.
We Can Survive takes place on October 23 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA.
